What AI model powers FitOut Insider?

We use Claude by Anthropic, one of the most capable AI model families available. Every tool is built around deep, domain-specific prompts written by a Senior PM with 20 years in UK construction. The AI understands JCT/NEC4 contracts, CDM 2015, HGCRA payment law, and fit-out workflows, so it is drafting in the right contract language and regulatory framework from the start, not generic AI.

How many AI requests do I get?

During your 14-day free trial, AI runs on our key with US$5 of usage included, which is about ten full AI programmes or forty RAMS. Once you subscribe there is no monthly limit on any plan. Every plan connects your own Anthropic API key (BYOK), so you pay Anthropic directly at cost, nothing routes through us or gets marked up. Most tools use one AI request per generation - a RAMS, a payment application. Programme Creator uses more: around eleven to thirteen calls across the skeleton and every phase. Under Settings, Usage and Plan you can see your request count, your token counts and an estimated cost for the month, to check against your Anthropic bill.

What is BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)?

You do not need one to start: your 14-day trial runs on our key with US$5 of AI usage included. When you subscribe, every plan connects your own Anthropic API key. You pay Anthropic directly at their published rates, with no monthly request limit and no markup from us. Here is what that actually costs, measured on this platform rather than estimated. A toolbox talk is about 5 US cents. A RAMS is about 12 cents. A construction phase plan is a few cents for a short one, up to about 27 cents for a fully detailed one. A full AI programme is the expensive one at about 50 cents, because it makes one call to build the skeleton and then a separate call for every phase in the job - eleven to thirteen calls on the projects we have measured. The length of your scope description barely moves it: about 50 cents, and up to about 70 cents with the full 50,000 characters the scope box accepts. So a month with two programmes and thirty documents costs about $3, and a heavy month with four programmes and eighty documents costs about $8. Anthropic bills in US dollars, so your figure in pounds moves with the exchange rate. These are measurements taken on this platform in September 2026 at Anthropic's published Sonnet rates of $3 per million input tokens and $15 per million output tokens; if those rates change, your cost changes with them. You can see your own running total any time under Settings, Usage and Plan.

Is my data secure? Where is it stored?

All data is stored in the European Union, on Supabase infrastructure in Ireland (eu-west-1). Connections are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3). Saved documents and project registers stay in your account for as long as your account is active. Your data is not used to train AI models: under Anthropic's current commercial terms, data sent through the API is not used for training. Those terms are Anthropic's and can change. We do not share or sell your data.

Is FitOut Insider GDPR compliant?

We operate under UK GDPR (post-Brexit) and EU GDPR. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data at any time. We act as data controller for account data and data processor for project data you upload. A Data Processing Agreement forms part of the standard terms accepted by every customer on every plan.

Question 6

Does it work on mobile and tablet, on site?

FitOut Insider is built for a laptop or desktop first. It opens in a phone or tablet browser and can be added to your home screen on iOS and Android, but the phone layout is still a work in progress and several screens are hard to use on a small screen today. A tablet or laptop is the better choice for now, and the Gantt programme in particular needs a larger screen. We are improving phone use and will say so here when it is ready.

Does it work offline?

Once you have opened the app on a device, pages you have already visited load without a signal, and entries you make in registers and inspections sync when you are back online. AI generation and anything you have not opened before need a connection.

Are these tools guidance only?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every output should be reviewed by a competent professional before use. The tools accelerate drafting; they do not replace contractual or health and safety expertise.

Can my whole team use it?

Solo is a single-seat plan. Team covers 2-9 seats and Business covers 10-19 seats, both with a shared workspace and admin dashboard. For 20 or more seats, contact us about Enterprise.

Can I cancel at any time?

Accepted Answer

Yes, cancel any time from Settings or the billing portal. There are no cancellation fees, and monthly plans have no minimum term; an annual plan runs for the year you have paid for. Your subscription continues until the end of the billing period. Deleting your account is different: it cancels immediately and removes your data, with no refund for the rest of the period, except where you are still within your 14-day right to cancel (see clause 16 of our Terms).

Question 11

What happens to my data if I cancel?

You keep full access until the end of the period you have paid for, so export anything you want to keep before then. After that your access ends, but your projects and saved documents are kept for 90 days. If you resubscribe within those 90 days, everything is where you left it. If you do not, it is deleted. If you need a copy of your data during those 90 days, email hello@fitoutinsider.com and we will provide it. You can also delete your account yourself at any time from Settings, which removes your projects, saved documents and profile straight away.

How does the 14-day free trial work?

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial for a first-time account (if you have had a trial or subscription with us before, the trial is not repeated). A card is required at signup but is not charged until day 15 - use the tools on a live project for the full 14 days, and cancel any time before day 15 if it's not for you. No charge if you cancel in time. Your trial includes US$5 of AI usage on our key, so you do not need an AI account to start. The US$5 is a per-account allowance on a shared trial key, so it can stop earlier if the shared trial pool for the month has been used up - we would email you if that happens.

Question 13

Can I subscribe for myself?

Yes. You can take the Solo plan as an individual, for example to use the tools in your own job, and pay for it yourself. Choose "Myself" when you sign up. Your price includes VAT, and you can cancel within 14 days of subscribing. See clause 16 of our Terms.
